Waste Disposal Information for

Tenants

The tenant of a household property can use the services of the local authority to remove waste and the District Council will provide the normal grey bin for residual waste and may provide other containers for recyclable waste.

If the tenant has bulky items, such as furniture, these can be collected by the District, usually for a small charge or, taken free of charge, but only by the householder themselves, to any of the Household Waste Recycling Centres run by the County Council.

In the west and north of the County these are located at Mayfield Road Ashbourne. Melandra Road Glossop, Sheffield Road Chesterfield and Main Road Newhall near Swadlincote. A new site is expected to open in late 2008 at Buxton.

These sites are open from 8.30am to 6.00 pm seven days a week except Dec 25^th and 26^th January 1^st.
